October 6, 2025 Meeting Minutes

Attendance: Martin Chapin, Orlin Engh, Susan Mueller, Nicole Rakobitsch, Bill Townsley, Carrie Vanek, Jason Vidas

Absent: none

  • Meeting was called to order at 6:31 pm by Vanek.
    • Approval of September 2025 minutes
      • Mueller made a motion to approve, Townsley seconded.
    • Public Comment
      • Chris Abrahamson – should the survey go to renters? Gore Hollow and SS renters were brought up as examples. 
    • Open items: sourcing charts, maps, survey materials
      • Vernon County will have updated maps for us in November for the revised Comprehensive Plan. 
      • Postcard notifying residents of upcoming survey: Mueller made a motion to approve the postcard as written with one edit – return address will be updated to the Town’s PO Box. Vidas seconded. 
    • Land Use/zoning survey: content, format and procedure discussion
      • Committee reviewed second draft of survey.  Mueller made a motion to approve survey with edits as discussed. Rakobitsch seconded.  
      • Committee reviewed the price quote from Meridian for printing and mailing the postcard and survey. 
      • Townsley made a motion to approve the quote for $1,088 plus or minus $20, Chapman seconded. Vanek will pay bill and submit for reimbursement to the Board.
    • Committee decided renters mentioned in public comment will receive the survey.
    • Mailing dates: postcards will go out as soon as possible, around 10/10.  Survey will be mailed within 7 days of the post card with a due date of November 15.
    • Returned surveys will be unopened and presented to the committee for review and compilation.
      • There will be no USPS informed delivery.
    • Continue updating the comprehensive plan (ch 6-8)
      • Tabled due to time
    • Future agenda items
      • Processing received surveys
    • Determine November Meeting Date
      • November 17, Dec 15 are the next two meetings.
    • Meeting adjourned
      • Rakobitsch made a motion to conclude meeting at 7:58 pm CST.  Mueller seconded.
