Board members present: Chair Orlin Engh, Supervisor Bill Townsley, Treasurer Chris Abrahamson, Clerk Sharon Engh
- The meeting was called to order by Chair Engh at 6:30 pm
- Chair Engh moved that we accept the minutes as written from May 13, 2024, seconded by Supervisor Townsley, all in favor, motion carried.
- Treasurer’s Report: Chris went over his report, and it is on file.
- Dumpster Monitor’s report: Paul said he had nothing to report
- Equipment Report: All equipment is in working order. Roads are in good shape; some blade work needs to be done.
- First public comment: Terry Theis brought us up to date on the Fire association. The grant coordinator resigned, and Kelly has taken over the position. They are still working on the budget and their next meeting is Weds.
- Town Announcements: The WTA meeting for our region is on Thursday, the 25th at KVR. The County is still getting the resolution for the decommissioning of the dams together. There will be the prelat and public testing for the voting machine on August 3rd. The workers for the election will be Bert Miller, Chief inspector, poll workers: Cathy Linskens, Logan Gjefle, kay Starr and Sheree Anderson.
- Variance request by Village of Viola for Solar Field: Chair Engh moved to accept and pass the variance from the Village of Viola for their solar field, seconded by Supervisor Townsley, all in favor, motion carried.
- Updates on the building permit: This was tabled until Supervisor Amelse was back in August.
- Vernon County Community Development grants: Chris gave a nice update on this grant. He is going to participate in the zoom meeting that talks more about it. We could get up to $10,000 and Catherine Fox is willing to work with us on writing the grant.
- Furnace update: We have one estimate from Hugh Oliver. We are awaiting another one from Kevin Anderson. Ash Creek is coming later in the week. There is nothing about the deck.
- Unsightly storage on Old 56: Chair Engh moved that a certified letter be sent to the owner stated he has 30 days from the letter is received to move his stuff. Supervisor Townsley seconded, all in favor, motion carried.
- Second period for public comment: None
- Chair Engh moved that we approve paying the monthly bills of $17,858.26. Supervisor Townsley seconded, all in favor motion carried.
- Future agenda items: invite Brandon Larson, final draft of the building permit ordinance, grant and trip money projects, heating and building estimates and decision made.
- Next meeting date is August 19th, at 6:30pm at the Town Hall
- Meeting was moved to adjourn by Chair Engh, seconded by Supervisor Townsley, meeting adjourned by 7:21 pm.
