Liberty Town Hall

Board members present: Chair Orlin Engh, Supervisor Bill Townsley, Supervisor Andrian Amelse, Clerk Sharon Engh, and Treasurer Chris Abrahamson
- The meeting was called to order by chair Engh at 6:30pm.
- Motion to approve the minutes from March 2025 minutes by Supervisor Amelse, Supervisor Townsley seconded, all in favor, motion carried.
- The treasurer’s report was read and put on file.
- Chair Engh opened the gravel bid that we received from Milestone. There was some questions and discussions about delivery vs non-delivery. Supervisor Amelse moved that we accept the bid for $8.30 a ton with no delivery charge and we will use Fortney for the delivery. Seconded by Supervisor Townsley, all in favor, motion carried.
- Dumpster Monitor Report: Paul had nothing to report at this time.
- Road Report Allen reported that seasonal work is being done. Culverts are being cleaned out, posts and wire are also being cleaned out. They are starting to clean around the town hall so painting can be done.
- Building permit update: There were 2 permits granted, Brandon Olson on Oak is building a picnic shelter, and Ryan Mooney is building a deck onto his cabin.
- Update from Wade Lawler: The new finance director has started. They received a 2nd notice of the landfill and 3 things are being considered: a. Converse with state officials, b. they are not going to expand and c. continue addressing concerns from DNR. The Public.
- First period for public comments: Wade brought up concerns with how the comprehensive planning committee was handling the procedure. He also thanked the election workers for all their work.
- Citation and other ordinance updates: Chris would like to push this off to the May meeting.
- Town Hall improvements: Painting on the outside will start as soon as we get consistent days of 45 degrees or higher, the ramp and deck will be done after that. We will update at the May meeting.
- The Board of Review is May 2nd, and the Open book is on April 25th. We will be renewing our contract with Chimney Rock in May. Chris handed out what needs to be looked over.
- Town Announcements: Thank you to Adrian Amelse for the years of service as Supervisor. You will be missed.
- Comprehensive planning updates: The initial meeting was held. The next meeting will have a discussion on procedures and policies. It is scheduled for May 5th.
- The picnic for the Town of Liberty is still being planned, with no updates, and we will discuss it in May.
- Illusion Drive update: Shannon was asked to move the shed by May 1, 2025, and she agreed. If not moved by then she will receive a letter and fined.
- Second period for public comment: Paul asked about the land on Illusion Dr. Allen forgot to mention that the road bans have been lifted. And Chris has questions for Kayne which he will ask at Open book and BOR.
- Supervisor Amelse moved to approve the monthly bills of $6,961.08. Supervisor Townsley seconded all in favor, motion carried.
- Future Agenda items: Ordinance and citation updates, Picnic, Town Hall improvements, contract renewal with assessor.
- Next meeting will be at the Town Hall, at 6:30 pm, on May 12, 2025
- Supervisor Amelse moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:36pm, Seconded by Chair Engh, motion carried.
